Jackie Charles the love-child, band and alter ego of Kaja Bremnes are releasing their debut album Future Fantasies on April 19th A washed out, hallucinogenic quality permeates the album, with brutally honest lyrics concealed beneath sugary sweet melodies. This is a Summer soundtrack for those with more nihilistic tendencies. Who cares if society is failing and the sea levels are rising? Bremnes' voice is the pivotal point here however, acrobatically swinging between Kate Bush-esque falsetto and quiet, sultry drawl.

New material on big Ron's Future Vision label - the outlet he saves for his immediate focus and new directions Add a warm analogue bass and a few choice keyboard presets and you've got a beautiful early doors house song, meticulously constructed and musically minded with proper verse, chorus, bridge sections to revel in. This isn't a totally new sound to Ron Trent, but it comes as a bright and cheery surprise when it fruits at the end of this record.

And so it's with great pleasure we announce the arrival of "Home Extraction EP" - the first vinyl release on Cerberus Future Technologies which previously housed Spandex and friend's wild experiments on c60 cassette tape and dedicated to the art of DIY DMT manufacture. We start off with "Naptha", which my limited chemistry knowledge suggests is the 'base' for extraction.
Anyway, it's an incendiary and quite sexualized number, that patented Spandex throb ever present as a coital groove thrusts itself into our nether regions. As the key ingredient in the extraction and the bit that 'holds the magic', the track lives up to its expectations as one 5d-traversing space shuttle vortex cruiser.

The acclaimed Chi-town luminary seems to be putting out as much new music now as he did 20 years ago, with his recently revived Future Vision alongside new imprint Music and Power, not to mention his Electric Blue series On this latest offering he teams up with Manoo for a deep, dubby, atmospheric house track with a beautifully detailed, highly textured palette. Everything from the crisp perc, electric soundbed and squelchy B-line sounds sublime, with the veteran producer's lifetime experience really paying off.
